LECTROS D.P.C INJECTION CREAM
An alternative for those preferring a chemical solution to their “rising damp” problems!!
A highly effective ready-to-use cream emulsion on a silane/siloxane base to combat rising damp in masonry.
|
|
 |
Lectros D.P.C Cream is a unique silicone emulsion cream for injection into damp masonry for the control
of rising dampness. Lectros D.P.C Cream can be used in all types of masonry without the use of high pressure equipment.

…..the quick and easy way to treat Rising Damp!

The cream is delivered by hand pressure only, from a simple displacement pump with an injector lance into a series
of holes drilled into the mortar course. From here it migrates rapidly into the damp masonry pores where the injection cream reverts to
a liquid phase and polysiloxanes are formed in-situ. During the curing period a low molecular-weight silane vapour is also produced
giving excellent migration through the wall.
|
 |
Curing of the DPC starts immediately with the final cure taking 2 – 6 weeks depending on wall thickness. Extensive field
experience with this technology demonstrated that Lectros D.P.C Cream will perform as well as any conventional liquid injection system against rising
damp.
The Lectros D.P.C Cream installation method may be described as “volume specific”. Holes are drilled
into the mortar around 20mm shorter than the wall thickness. Spacing between the holes is dependent on the hole diameter, i.e. 10mm diameter -
100mm apart, 12mm diameter - 120mm apart.
|
The Lectros D.P.C Cream pump nozzle is inserted the full depth of the hole and is withdrawn as the cream is being dispensed to
completely fill the holes ensuring the quantity dispensed into the masonry complies with the volume of masonry being treated. The
thixotropic material, which diffuses slowly through the damp mortar and surrounding masonry, will not flow freely from the horizontally
drilled holes.

Lectros D.P.C Cream Installation Instructions advocate compliance with local standards, if available,
or with the British Standard ‘Code of Practice for Installation of Chemical Damp Proof Courses’ BS 6576 (1985). In particular, the inserted DPC
should be below the level of timber floors unless prevented by structural considerations (in which case other measures may well
be required to isolate joists etc. from damp walls below the DPC ). Lectros D.P.C Cream is designed to control rising damp but walls can
remain damp after DPC installation where they are severely contaminated with hygroscopic salts. Special measures may be required to provide
long-term control of dampness in such walls. Lectros DPC Cream will migrate slowly through most dry masonry,
but works and migrates more efficiently and quicker if the masonry is damp. Its effectiveness is also subject to a correct “Rising Damp” diagnosis.
Lectros D.P.C Cream is guaranteed for Twenty Years when installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions by an authorized installation contractor.
